Spearfish Canyon, SD

With Brad's crazy work schedule, its been hard to really "escape" reality.  We literally have been confined to city limits since we moved here practically. It really hasn't set in yet that we live in North Eastern Wyoming. It feels like we live in a small town in Oklahoma somewhere. I think that's because we could get out for drives and adventures in Oklahoma, and we haven't had the opportunity to do that much here. Finally, we decided to take some much needed time for ourselves over a three day weekend. A neighbor of ours allowed us to use her 2-free night stays at a hotel in Deadwood, SD. We decided we would take the long journey to and from Deadwood through Spearfish Canyon. It was an absolutely breathtaking drive/adventure. We even got off the beaten path and saw some sites tucked back in the hills. We scoped out the land for future picnics, camping trips, and adventures. We saw the film site for Dances with Wolves, and stopped to soak up the sun at the waterfalls. It was amazing, and most important a time for Brad and I to escape reality & spend quality time together.

The streams were absolutely beautiful.

My husband doesn't usually get too excited for photos!

Look at this handsome man:)

I love the camera's availability to capture such serenity and peaceful moments. Look at the coloration of the falls, and the green spring tree's. The world is a beautiful place.

Stopping to recognize the history in Deadwood, SD. As we visit the gravesites. Taking a moment to place an item on the stone signifying- "we were here"
