Kyaking Byers

Brad and I wanted to spend this afternoon outside. So we debated on what we were going to do...

After some deliberating, we found ourselves at Byers lake again this afternoon. We rented two kyaks for two hours and paddled around the lake. It felt so refreshing, the water was very mild, and reminded me of home so much. I haven't done any kyaking before, so it was a neat experience. At first, the mountain was out! We were able to paddle out far enough to get pictures! It was probably one of the better views I have seen of the side of McKinley! Then, like always, clouds moved in. By the end of our two hours the clouds had moved in a storm front was moving in so we paddled as fast as we could to get to the shore. It was a pleasant day off. When we arrived home I decided to use the time to catch up on some unfinished blogs, as well as bake some brownies for Brad - Transportation had a BBQ for us at 8pm. We hung around the trailer relaxing till it was time to go help set-up for the BBQ. It's always fun to get together with coworkers, laugh, joke, and catch up with one another. This season has been so crazy busy we hardly see one another this year. Which sometimes can be fairly sad:( So it's nice to get back together every now and then to say hello, and play!

My wonderful husband always works so hard to make me happy. Especially on our ONE day off a week. Sometimes I think he would rather just sleep in, and not do anything. But knowing we are in this beautiful part of the country, he makes it a point to do fun things on our time off. He is the hardest worker and never ceases to amaze me. He is always so tired (he wakes up at 5:30am for work everyday) yet he still plays softball, and gets together with our friends frequently. He is a trooper:)
