Troublesome Creek Walk

Brad and I decided to go for a walk around the Troublesome Creek area that is right up the road from the lodge. We always pass by all these really neat places in our company vehicles but have never had the opportunity to explore whats right in our backyard. So we parked the truck and walked down to the creek. Brad, just like his mother, started looking for rocks! He instantly was in search for Jade - the state gem - and Gold - the state mineral. Troublesome got it's name for the high population of bear that are in the area so we walked around with caution, remaining alert. It was a sunny beautiful afternoon. Perfect day to dream of gold panning/dredging. If only we had the equipment. So we dug in the dirt and moved rocks around with our hands, in attempt to examine/discuss all the different rock formations we found. It's so much fun sifting through the different rocks, and coming up with ways they were formed, or how they arrived here to this area. We had so much fun spending time together in the sunshine, wishing/hoping/dreaming we'd strike it big and - FIND GOLD! No such luck this time folks, but we do hope to possibly go back out one day when we have some pans and sifters to possibly find some flakes:)
