On our first day there, we really wanted to see a little more of what Florida had to offer. After running a few errands in the morning, we decided to take a trip up to Sarasota and visit The Mote Marine Center. There we saw turtles, sea lions, manatee's, dolphins, sharks, lots of fish, and much much more. Chuck and Lori only live about a half hour away, and are recipients of a yearly pass with their donations. With their pass, they are able to get in two free guests, so it was fun to take the drive up, see the gulf, and also these beautiful creatures of the sea. Mom has always loved Manatees. It was a special experience for me to see them first hand in all their (ugly) glory. The are majestic, and slow. Although their face looks like it took a nose dive into the ground, there is something catchy about these huge animals. I loved watching them swim, play and dive while there at the Marine center.

Following our time at The Mote, we took a drive to America's number 1 rated beach. When we arrived to the sand, I had to take off my sandals to feel the grains on my feet. What I felt was pleasant, it wasn't grains at all, it was soft - like baby powder or powdered sugar. It was a very fine sand, therefore you just floated across the top, and your feet didn't feel all nasty. It was even easy to walk on with tennis shoes (and in Brad's case - boots). It was amazing!
